How Long to Cook Diced Beef in 0an for a Curry

Jump to Recipe

Easy beef curry recipe that's super simple to make. Tender slowly cooked braising steak in a rich, mildly spiced tomato sauce. A budget friendly, tasty dinner recipe all the family will love.

Our easy beef curry recipe is a sort of mash up between a curry and a slowly cooked oven baked stew. The result is delicious tender beef in a lovely thick, mildly spiced tomato sauce.

And it's so easy to make!

I use a blend of spices to create a tasty curry flavour – a mixture of ground cumin, turmeric, ground coriander and red chilli flakes. I stir garam masala through the curry towards the end of cooking.

If you don't want to buy a whole lot of different spices then buy yourself a pot of mild or medium curry powder and a pot of garam masala for a similar style taste.

If you want to make a more special dinner then serve with Indian style breads – like naan or chapatis, a selection of Indian style dips, mint cucumber raita, mango chutney and a pile of crunchy popadoms.

I always like to serve curry with a spicy, zingy fresh salad – try our Indian Salad Recipe here.

Can You Freeze Curry?

Absolutely – just cool and store the leftovers in an air tight container or tip into a freezer bag. Freeze for up to a month – I usually freeze leftovers and add to my meal plan to eat the next week.

How To Reheat Curry

To reheat the curry place it in a saucepan on the hob and warm slowly to a boil – then simmer for around 10 minutes or until the food is piping hot and heated properly throughout.

You can also reheat this in the microwave in a suitable container until the food is heated properly.
